Our RailDolly Pro Speed Rail Slider Dolly configuration is a great solution for professionals who need a solid portable camera slider dolly for mid to large-size cameras (Up to 100lb).
The RailDolly Pro Camera Dolly has awide and low stancethat provides great stability when using full-size camera packages.
The RailDolly Pro is also a good option for critical audio recording becauseoperation is silentwith its semi-soft wheels.
The RailDolly Pro carriage doesn’t have any moving, rotating or articulating parts (besides the wheels) so everythingfeels solid, when you hold it and when you use it.
Because of the flat orientation of the wheels the RailDolly Pro carriage can be used directly on the ground or elsewhere as ahigh hat. This also comes in very handy when repositioning your rails, you can take the camera with carriage off the tracks and set it down while you move the rails.
The carriage can also be reconfigured as askater-dollyso you have two great options for movement with one system.
With theuniversal designof the carriage and end-brackets you can use this system with any pipe/tube with an OD between 1-2″. Most common is1-1/4″ Schedule 80 aluminum pipe (speed-rail) which can be purchased at a metal supplier. Another great material to use which is more widely available isheavy-duty, chrome closet poleavailable at Home Depot, Lowe’s etc… The RailDolly Pro Speed Rail Slider Dolly can also be used onsquare or rectangular rails. Square/rectangular rails are much more rigid at long lengths than tube/pipe so if you’re going to be putting a BIG camera rig in motion this is an ideal option.
FAQs
What's the difference between RailDolly and Passport?
The only difference between RailDolly and Passport is that Passport includes the collapsible rails inside the case. We keep the names separate because when someone refers to a Passport we want to ensure that they are talking about the complete solution and not just a piece of it. We don't want someone calling a rental house asking for a Passport and receiving something else.
