This single axle add on to the Passport or RailDolly products secures your camera onto the rails preventing it from coming off the tracks in the event that the weight is unbalanced. This is a smaller and quicker to use alternative to the RailDolly 2X add on.

For heavy camera setups one danger is if the tripod head is not locked off and the operator steps away from the camera the camera could tilt forward/backwards and cause the dolly to fall off the rails.

Another use for this anti-tip bracket / axle is if you are shooting down onto a subject. Often this would cause the load to become unbalanced and possibly tip. Using a axle with wheels like this allows you to continue to use the dolly even if the load is not even. Brackets that are purely anti-tip are for security only and would not allow the dolly to maintain its functionality.
