About
The RigWheels PT-Zero camera vibration isolator is the perfect solution to improve image quality for fixed installations in theaters, concert venues, houses of worship, classrooms, factories with machine vibration, and other similar locations. This innovative mount is designed to reduce unwanted vibrations that can negatively impact your camera’s performance, allowing you to capture clear and stable images. RigWheels PTZ camera vibration isolator is capable of reducing vibrations from various sources, including loudspeakers, machinery, foot traffic, and other problematic sources. This results in exceptionally improved image stability, ensuring that your footage remains clear, even in challenging environments.
Popular uses
HOUSE OF WORSHIP - Bid farewell to vibrations caused by sound systems, HVAC systems, or movements within the congregation that interfere with your video clarity. The exceptional isolation capabilities of the PT-Zero make it an excellent solution for capturing vibration-free images to deliver an awe-inspiring and engaging experience for your audience.
LIVE EVENTS - Produce distraction-free live events with stable and crystal-clear video footage using the PT-Zero. This effective device neutralizes vibrations caused by bustling crowds, movement, and equipment, ensuring every camera is useable without interference or disruption.
CORPORATE / INDUSTRIAL - Capture clear video in industrial applications with confidence, knowing that the PT-Zero can handle heavy machinery and infrastructural vibrations. Engineered to withstand and counteract these challenges, it delivers stable and clear video feeds even in the harshest environments, making it an indispensable asset.
SURVEILLANCE / SECURITY - In surveillance and security settings, the PT-Zero excels at isolating structural vibrations ensuring that critical details are captured clearly and not lost to shaky footage.
Compatibility
The PT-Zero can be used with most popular PTZ cameras. To simplify setup the PT-Zero has a target weight range of 8-12 pounds. Cameras lighter then this can add the PT-Zero Weights to get into the target range for best performance.
Size
The mounting plates used for the PT-Zero isolators is are 8.170″ square. When the different cabling options are attached the overall size varies.

FAQs
How is the PT-Zero different than the previous RigWheels Isolators?
The PT-Zero looks similar to the previous RigWheels PTZ isolators however, there is a lot more isolation happening. We’ve added more than 30 new isolation components which dramatically increases the degree of isolation possible. We’ve also added more mounting and positioning options.
How easy it it to install the PT-Zero?
We’ve made it much more easy to install the PT-Zero than the previous isolators. The PT-Zero uses a target weight range of 8-12 pounds. Certainly, there are lots of quality PTZ cameras that are lighter than this so we have created weights that can be added to get to the target weight.
The PT-Zero isolator sections ship fully or partially assembled (depending on the option selected) and the other wall brackets and mounting accessories can be added on easily.
What makes the PT-Zero different from other PTZ vibration isolators on the market?
Some other isolators do a fairly good job of isolating light high-frequency vibrations however, at stronger intensity and lower frequencies, they are not able to provide the same amount of isolation as the PT-Zero. One of the reasons we can achieve this is the size of the area in the mount we are using for isolation. With the PT-Zero, vibrations have to travel a much greater distance through isolation/dampening materials between the non-isolated and the isolated plate the camera is attached to.
Can I use ________ camera on the PT-Zero?
Most of the new popular PTZ cameras are compatible with the PT-Zero. Camera and weight distribution should be centered on the mounting plate for best results. Some older/larger PTZ systems with very uneven weight distribution would not work properly.
Can I use the PT-Zero outdoors?
The PT-Zero can be used outdoors if it is in a location that will have minimal exposure to wind.
How does the PT-Zero handle vibrations from heavy machinery or structural tremors?
In an installation where there are more abrupt movements such as a camera mounted above a door that causes a shake when it closes, what we have seen in testing on long zoom lenses is that the PT-Zero greatly reduces the initial “shock” but more importantly, the movement that is transferred to the camera is very soft and does not distort the image. Furthermore, any movement that may be seen settles very quickly. What we see without the PT-Zero is a very resonant type of shock and ongoing vibration that makes the camera/image unusable for some time.
Can I use other 3rd party products to mount the PT-Zero
Certainly! There are many ways that the PT-Zero can be mounted using its standard-size holes. If other brackets / clamps / or accessories will help get the PT-Zero into the position you need it, there is no problem in doing so as long as they are stable/strong and do not add more vibration problems.
How is the PT-Zero different than the Cloud Mount?
The Cloud Mount is designed to work in a much more volatile and unpredictable environment. PTZ cameras are used in fixed positions and because of this we can configure the cabling of the PT-Zero to be very soft as well as use different isolation components that are not durable enough for a Cloud Mount application.
Can this fix PTZ vibrations on a long zoom / telephoto lens?
If you have not yet watched the “case study” video, please take a few minutes to do so. In the demo installation, the 20X zoom cameras were fully extended on their lenses and the PT-Zero produced excellent results. We also worked with a PTZ camera manufacturer in the development and testing of this product. They decided to remain unnamed as they did not want to have any connection as a manufacturer to PTZ vibration issues. While working with them we were testing the isolation of a 40x camera at full zoom: that’s more than 1200mm in 35mm equivalent! What we found is that the PT-Zero made significant improvements in the image quality. Images that were very shaky and distorted without the isolator became clear and useable for most purposes. Also, the recovery time for the image to stabilize was dramatically reduced.
