Maximize motion control

Underneath the hood of the Conductor Sa2.6 is a first of its kind array of processors that can seamlessly control pan / tilt / roll / focus / zoom / monorail, all at the same time. But the hardware is not what makes this great.

The magic is in the software. eMotimo has years of experience building algorithms that make the moves seamless.

Details

Description

Conductor integration is coming to the Passport & RailDolly. Integration parts will be finalized and available early 2025.

If you already own a Passport or RailDolly this will be compatible with system you already own.

Main Controller Functions

1- Interview Monster

Shooting interviews with motion can add tremendous production value to talking-head and narrative shoots, however, it can be technically difficult for most camera operators. By combining linear motion to gimbals, high-quality automated interviews are now easy to set up and shoot.

With the eMotimo Conductor, setting up an automated interview with motion can be achieved in as little as 15 seconds with as few as three button clicks using the single, simple interface.  No previous motion control experience necessary.

How it works:

Combine an off-the-shelf DJI RS2, RS3 or RS4 gimbal with the Monorail and eMotimo 2.6.  The eMotimo Conductor SA2.6 serves as a conductor between the linear motion and the gimbal to enable the operator to program simple or complex motion simply and quickly.

2 - Product Monster

Adding controlled motion to any product or tabletop shoot elevates production value. But achieving these specialized motions with the correct timing and consistency takes years of practice for single operators and teams.

The eMotimo Conductor motion controller coordinates pan/tilt/roll/focus from advanced third-party gimbals, with linear motion from the Monorail. Even with 6 controllable axis, it is easier than ever before to create a smooth, professional shot.

Use the easy guided modes for quick and easy motion control, or go deeper to add 9 keyframes for fine focus and framing control. If you need even more control connect to Dragonframe software for unlimited keyframing and control for video or stop-motion shoots.

What's included / needed

Included

-eMotimo Conductor integration kit for Passport / RailDolly.

Other items needed.

-RigWheels Passport / RailDolly

-DJI RS2, RS3, RS4 gimbal

-Camera compatible with gimbal

-Power base for the gimbal

-Power source with d-tap distribution

-Nucleus M or DJI focus/zoom motors as needed (only one DJI motor can be controlled through the Ronin. If both focus and zoom are needed Nucleus M motors would be required)

-Image transmission as needed

Intuitive user interface

Getting up to speed on motion control systems can be intimidating. eMotimo has spent countless hours and done a great job making the most common shots easy to set up and execute. See more about the controller here.

Beyond portable

Camera Motion control doesn't have to be big, heavy and cumbersome. With Passport + Conductor you can easily fit motion control in the back of a sedan.

FAQs

Can I use _____ gimbal with this?

You can use the Monorail Conductor independently as a "smart" linear solution but you would need to control non supported gimbals separately.

The eMotimo controller currently supports communication with Ronin RS2, RS3, RS4 gimbals.

If your RS2,3,4 Pro gimbal has the expansion port to take the DJI Focus Knob, you are set. If it can't, it doesn't have the correct connection to enable the Conductor to communicate with it.

See photo here.

Can I use _____ camera with this?

You can use any camera/lens combination that the above gimbals support.

Can I move _____ with this?

You can use this solution as a programmable linear system to move anything so long as the load is relatively centered underneath the carriage.

Can I connect this to a network.

The Conductor SA2.6 has a several ways you can communicate with it. One of the most powerful, extendable and reliable ways is through its wired network port

The Conductor has a 10/100 Network Connection that can be configured in many ways. The most common is to plug it into a wired network to obtain an IP address from your router (Dynamic or Static) and serve as a TCP Server to reply to commands issues to it. Typically  This enables communication from anything on the network that can see that IP address.

Once on the network, eMotimo can talk to Bitfocus Companion (prebuilt configurations) , Skaarhoj Controllers (prebuilt configurations), Dragonframe, and our open and published eMotimo API for those that want to incorporate control into other applications.  Unlike inexpensive devices that rely solely on spotty and variable latency wireless communication, the Conductor's wired network port gives reliable, low latent performance over long distances for production environments for short and long terms installations.

Conductor also has an onboard Wifi receiver that may be turned on to enable faster run and gun setups, but at this time only the wired connection is fully supported.

What is the weight capacity?

Because "hangers" can be placed in-between sections of PortaRail, the Monorail system can be setup to support heavy loads. The limitation for weight comes from the compatible gimbals. The RS4 Pro supports a payload of 10 pounds.

How far can I extend the rails?

Without any center support you can use up to 15" of PortaRail.

Does this work with PTZ cameras?

You can use the Monorail Conductor as a "transport" for a PTZ system but you would not have the smart coordination of pan/tilt/zoom/focus/slide coming from one controller. The PTZ and slide would be controlled independently.

Can I integrate this with my PTZ system.

Yes! With the camera/lens options available from major manufacturers there is certainly a way to get a Monorail + Conductor system integrated into your current PTZ workflow.
