It's Fast
There couldn’t be anything faster than snapping a couple of magnets together. Speed is critical for today’s production environments and when you have fast tools you capture content more efficiently for your clients.
It's Reliable
Forget about pumping your vacuum suction cups! This product was developed for a project where the cameras would be installed in vehicles for up to a week at a time. If you’ve worked with suction mounts you know that they will lose suction over time and more than that, it’s a thought that sits in your head the entire time you’re using suction which distracts you from the real work at hand. With ourrubber-coatedmagnets, your camera will stay attached all day, all month, all year. This product is designed for HDSLR or similar cameras (it can work for larger but that is at your discretion).
It's Solid
With suction, you’re using a material that is inherently flexible (rubber) to try to achieve a solid shot. This can introduce a lot of flex and vibrations. The MAG-Tight camera windshield mount essentially provides you with hard mounting points which yield much better results. All magnets are not created equal. RigMount magnets have stainless steel studs which make them very strong and resistant to corrosion as well as a proprietary rubber casing which we have refined over many years.
It's Small
One of the challenges with traditional rigging is the space necessary. In the interior space of a vehicle you need every millimeter you can get to tuck the cameras into the windshield deep enough to 1) stay out of the frame of other cameras and 2) get as far away from the driver/passenger as possible to minimize distortion. The RigMount magnets are about 1/4″ thick and enable tricky placements quickly and easily.
It's Versatile
Like all RigWheels products, you can use these components individually for other purposes like mounting cameras and accessories to the exterior body panels of vehicles, railings, vending machines…. There are a lot of metal surfaces in the world!

Low-Profile Rigging
Space is one of the challenges when rigging inside of vehicles. With the Mag-Tight magnets 2-3" of space is saved when attaching to a windshield. This can make huge difference for camera positioning and framing.

Will this scratch my windshield / car?
The magnets are rubber coated so there is no danger of scratching the mounting surface as long as it is clean and free of debris.
Can I use this on the outside of a windshield.
Yes however, the mounting hardware is designed for interior mounting so some other components may be needed to position your camera as desired on the exterior side.
I got the magnets stuck together. How do I separate them?
It's human nature to want to snap the magnets together. In order to separate them you will need to thread them onto something to get enough leverage. Do not try to separate them using a knife/screwdriver etc...
Will these erase my media?
No, flash media is not affected by magnets.
Can I use the magnets independently?
Certainly! The 4 RigMount 100 magnets with 1/4-20" studs can be used for endless production purposes.
If purchasing the Mag-Tight Curve you would have 2 RigMount 100 with 1/4-20" male and 2 RigMount 100 Curve with 1/4-20" female.
