The Monorail overhead camera rig is a simple concept with some very useful applications. We’ve all seen crazy contraptions that people have created to get a camera up and over a subject. With a gimbal (or hard-mounted) on the Monorail you have a practical and easy way to elevate your camera to get some great angles. Think about getting a camera above a stove or bed or an office cube… This rig is also great for document photography, art photography, cooking and more.
The Monorail carriage rides on our PortaRail tubing and can be extended as long as needed. The rails can be suspended/supported by our inline supports which the carriage rides past without interference.
Yes, I know what you’re thinking, it would be great to motorize this…. We have no intention of getting into the electronics business but are looking for an appropriate partner to develop a drive unit for the Monorail.
